With the amazing weather we’ve been having, I’ve been keen to go for a few new walks.
We’ve been to most of the Country Parks – there are five that Nottinghamshire County Council manages:
- Rufford Abbey Country Park (post to follow)
- Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve (post to follow)
- Bestwood Country Park
- Cotgrave Country Park (this one we still have to visit)
- National Water Sports Centre
So some lovely person on Twitter suggested that we visit Colwick Park instead – which was a great suggestion. It was a nice easy walk, but the location was beautiful – lakes surrounded by daisy fields. The kids had their ‘Spot the birds’ and ‘Spot the creepy crawlies’ books with them and there was plenty to keep them busy – a real variety of creatures, a lot of them with young ones in tow.
