Carnival of Monsters is a rare opportunity for professional artists living and working in the East Midlands to showcase ambitious works of art in a large and diverse industrial setting outside the City Centre. This venue is being made available to artists to show work in any media desired, to respond to the spaces which are very large and include a warehouse space, shop front, areas without natural light, disused offices etc. There is no theme apart from the suggestion that works should ideally respond to the architecture as the scale of the venue. The event is being made possible by a desire on the part of the site owners Bartons to develop an exhibitions and events venue and may be repeated if successful. Also, the event is aimed at professional artists as there are few opportunities of this nature in the region.
