First Floor invite you to a free celebration community party at New Art Exchange, Nottingham with food, drink, live music, children’s activities & special screening of the Breaking Bread film.

First Floor have been working with members of newly arrived immigrant communities in Nottingham  and in collaboration with a video artists, Monica Alcazar & Helen Muggeridge to create a film, which tells the story of personal identity and experience inspired by bread within their different cultures.
Breaking Bread aims to promote collective well-being and understanding between different communities and so strengthen the wider community and neighbourhood spirit in Nottingham.  It aims to give a voice to previously unheard communities and in sharing experience find common connections.  Breaking Bread is funded by Awards For All through the Big Lottery Fund and is supported by New Art Exchange and Culturebox.
