Recently I went to Lakeside for the first time and totally loved it. If you don’t know what Lakeside is, well it’s the University of Nottingham’s public arts facility based in the surroundings of Highfields Park.
We decided to go there with my step-sons for the Chinese paper cutting workshop which was part of the Chinese New Year celebrations. It was great, even I joined in! Afterwards we went to the cafe and then for a walk around the lake.
We then returned a couple of weeks later for the fireworks display to mark the start of the year of the rabbit. The combination of hot chocolate (with brandy and cream, yummmm) and amazing fireworks over the lake was just amazing. Needless to say, I didn’t mind the cold!
There seems to be quite a bit happening at Lakeside and I only work within walking distance of Highfields Park, so I’m sure I’ll be a regular visitor!
